Prof. Simeon E. Ifere is a Professor of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Lagos, where he has held several pioneering leadership roles at the University of Lagos Business School (ULBS), including pioneer Chairman of the Programme and Curriculum Committee, pioneer Coordinator of the Executive MBA programme, and Director of the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme.

He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, with academic training from Auchi Polytechnic, the University of Lagos, and Lagos State University, complemented by Executive Education Programmes at Harvard Business School. He is trained by Harvard Business School in teaching by the case method. He is also a Certified Corporate Director (Harvard Business School), a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), and a member of both the Academy of Management Nigeria and the Academy of International Business. He has also held a research fellowship and visiting lectureship at Swansea University, Swansea, UK.

Prof. Ifere brings 25 years of multinational industry experience to his academic work. He began his career at Elf Oil, rising to Senior Manager and Head of the Supply and Distribution Department, before continuing in senior management at Total following the 2001 merger of the Elf and Total groups in Nigeria. Since retiring from Total Nigeria Plc, he has provided operations and turnaround management consulting to organizations including Total Nigeria Plc, Oando Plc, and the Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), and regularly delivers executive and management training on human resources development and strategy.

He currently serves on the boards of Pinnacle Oil and Gas Limited, Maranatha University, Church of God Mission International Inc., and Redeemers University Business School, and is Chairman of the Leadership Initiative for Christian Impact Nigeria.

Prof. Ifere’s research centres on strategic management and entrepreneurship. His work has appeared in leading international journals, including the British Journal of Management, the International Journal of Human Resource Management, the Strategic Management Journal, the Journal of Business Research, and Critical Perspectives on International Business, for which he has also served as guest editor.

Prof. Ifere is married to Ovo, and they have three children.
