Our Sustainability Policy

Pinnacle shall conduct its activities in an environmentally and socially sound manner.  In line with this, Pinnacle shall establish procedures and compliance programs that aim for a positive impact on the environment and the society.

As a company that values innovation, we appreciate that times and practices are subject to change and acceptable sustainability practices will continue to evolve, therefore, we shall continue to explore how we can facilitate the introduction of more sustainable technologies, processes and products, in line with globally accepted standards.

How does Pinnacle implement its sustainability policy?

We have embraced and adapted 4 United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals to our local and international operations.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the United Nation adopted a list of 17 goals as sustainable development Agenda for 2030. These goals are geared towards inclusivity for all in the global effort to transform the world.

Pinnacle’s recognizes the need to play a role in the achievement of these goals through its industry transformative initiatives. In line with this, the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are embraced as part of our plan to contribute to society.

Decent Work and Economic Growth:

Our various developments have continued to create more jobs and opportunities in the societies we operate in. We operate standard facilities and are governed by globally accepted standards to ensure the provision of a most convenient and inclusive work environment for all those who work with and for us, while ensuring ‘’better work organisation, to create environments where workers are fully informed and consulted, able to balance the demands of work and home life and have opportunities for lifelong learning to boost skills and qualifications’’

We maintain a mindset that is geared towards the growth of our Nation’s economy and the growth and development of all our stakeholders, partners and employees and in doing so, we respect for core labour standards. This approach is informed by the goal to “Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all’’.

Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure:

Innovation is a core value in our bid to achieve our vision and mission as a company. It is on this basis that pinnacle has embraced this goal to “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.” As market leaders in the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry, our mind is geared towards optimizing operations in the industry though innovative infrastructure that will promote sustainability, reduce environmental hazard and impact on the entire value chain of the market.

Sustainable cities and communities:

“Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.”

Pinnacle has taken adequate steps to ensure corporate social responsibility is not excluded in its operations. We manage our projects in accordance with international best practice as we build and maintain relationships with our host communities through respectful and open dialogue. Our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives are focused on sustainability and development at the community level and locations where we have our business. These include healthcare, education, economic empowerment/ capacity building, infrastructure development and environmental stewardship initiatives.

Our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy extends across all aspects of the business from our own operations and subsidiaries to our supply chain. Pinnacle’s commitment to its strong social and environmental values is reflected in its rigorous approach to performance assessment, measurement and evaluation across our CSR pillars. Generating shared value with our local communities through job creation and skills enhancement has been our intent since inception, and as such, the number of employees recruited from our local communities has grown year-on-year.

Gender Equality:

Pinnacle and all affiliate companies and partners operate a gender-neutral and inclusive staff base. All employees of the company are offered equal opportunities and are given equal treatment irrespective of their gender, race, tribe, religion or beliefs.

Our management is  gender-neutral as we do not fail to recognize and honour the powerful women among us. We maintain zero tolerance for harassment and other gender-based offences and have recorded zero cases of such since inception. We are continuously working toward contributing more effectively to “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.”
